SuperZoo Review: What We Learned in Vegas
The Happy Cat Hotel Crew recently got back from one of the most influential pet industry conventions of the year. It’s called SuperZoo, established back in 1950 by the World Pet Association, which has grown to become the most-attended pet industry trade show in North America. Held at the luxurious Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas from Aug. 17-19, Happy Cat’s mission was to observe, mingle, network, and scout some of the 1,200 exhibitors and 800+ new products being launched. Below, we share some of the takeaways from America’s premier pet retail event:
Best New Product
Colorado Hemp Honey – we thought this was the best new product for cats. Not surprisingly, this product was one of many holistic, organic, or CBD supplemented offerings. There are multiple physical and psychological health benefits associated with these items—especially beneficial for cats with unpleasant levels of nervousness or stress. The Colorado Hemp Honey is non-psychoactive and can be used to treat joint and muscle discomfort, as well as overall mood. The brand features three levels of potency and five different flavors.
Best Booth Display/Coolest New Products
Hagen Catit is the world’s largest privately owned, multi-national pet products manufacturer and distributor. They aren’t just cat-centric, with product categories that extend to dogs, birds, reptiles, and the aquatic variety, but many of their product lines are quite feline-friendly!
Weird Flex
The Happy Cat Crew got quite excited to see that the SuperZoo convention had a planned pet grooming contest, but found out the competition did not feature any cats. What? Why?
New Products for Happy Cat Hotel
In the hunt for new and exciting products to feature in our pet retail areas and online e-commerce sites, the Happy Cat Crew was able to observe and decide on several new product lines for our feline hotel residents. We’re not ready to announce the full lineup just yet, but we are planning to debut these choices in 2022. Speaking of next year…

The Happy Cat Hotel & Spa is pleased to announce that we have purchased a booth at next year’s SuperZoo convention and expo! Our franchising group will be present to speak with convention goers about our brand—the only U.S.-based franchised daycare option strictly for our feline companions.
